RPAL delivers a wide range of youth development programs that provide opportunities for youth to identify and enhance their interests, skills and abilities.

Beautiful Minds STEM
Girls 11 - 15 years old
Show girls that SMART is Cool by empowering them in STEM. Beautiful Minds increases provides girls with a positive influence, increasing their confidence and improving their attitudes toward STEM topics, equipping them with key skills and resources needed for success in STEM fields, and encouraging the pursuit of STEM-centric careers and studies.

Boys Scout
Boys 11 - 18 years old
Provides programs for boys that build character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness.

Changing Habits, Attitudes & Mind Program (CHAMP)
Boys 11 - 17 years old
Develop the academic and functional abilities of young men through mentoring, academics assistance, civic engagement, and life skills. Participants are required to take responsibility for their choices and rewards and incentives are given for appropriate and extraordinary achievements and behavior.

RPAL Mentoring
10 - 17 years old
Young people enjoy meaningful mentoring services and activities with positive adult. They are guided by successful role models in the area of academic performance, decision-making skills, and self-confidence.
 
Richmond Young Scholars
High School Seniors
A program was created by RPAL and a group of local business leaders, youth service providers and community champions to celebrate the tremendous accomplishment of Richmond’s promising young scholars. Each year, $50,000 is given to Richmond youth who will be pursuing a post-secondary education.

Lego Robotics
10 - 14 years old
Fun, hands-on projects using robotics to get the creative juices flowing. They learn how to build and program robots with LEGO® bricks and software; they make new friends, develop new skills all while having having a great time with STEM.

Music with Heart
10 - 18 years old
Youth of all ages are offered weekly instruction in writing, singing, instruments, and engineering. The program helps young people develop their social skills. It helps them with discipline, build self-esteem and develop confidence. Music allows them to express their emotions and is one of the few activities than can be enjoyed by anyone. Youth are engaged with other youth that helps them understand and appreciate their differences, an important consideration in today’s diverse society.

The program transforms the lives of vulnerable children by enabling them to make a positive difference in their lives through life skills development, youth development, academic tutoring and recreation.
